These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of wedding video editing services by The Guest Edit, a trading name of Marc Farrell, a sole trader registered in England & Wales (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By booking and/or making payment for services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

1. Services

The Guest Edit provides professional video editing services including, but not limited to:

  • Wedding highlight films

  • Full wedding ceremony and speeches edits

  • Engagement and honeymoon edits

  • Birthday and special occasion edits

  • Social media reels

  • Other agreed video editing services

We provide editing services only. Filming services are not included unless agreed separately in writing.

2. Booking & Payment

2.1 Payment Options

Clients may choose either:

Option A – Full Payment Upfront
Full payment is required at the time of booking. Editing may commence once payment has cleared.

Option B – Deposit Payment Plan
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure the booking.
The remaining balance must be paid before final delivery of edited files.

No final edited video will be delivered until full payment has been received.

2.2 Refunds

All payments are non-refundable once editing has commenced.

Deposits are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.

3. Digital Services & Cooling-Off Period (UK Law)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers may have a 14-day cooling-off period for digital services.

By purchasing and agreeing to these Terms, you expressly:

  • Request that editing services begin immediately; and

  • Acknowledge that you waive your statutory 14-day cancellation right once editing has commenced.

No refunds will be issued once work has begun.

4. Turnaround Time

Estimated turnaround times will be communicated at booking.

Turnaround begins once:

  • All required footage has been received;

  • Music selections (if applicable) have been confirmed;

  • Full payment or deposit has cleared.

Delays in client communication, missing footage, or revision requests may extend delivery timelines.

Rush services may be available at an additional agreed fee. Rush fees are non-refundable once editing has commenced.

5. Revisions

Your package includes the agreed number of revision rounds.

5.1 Revision Window

All revision requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days of delivery of the draft edit.

Failure to request revisions within 14 days will constitute acceptance of the edit as final.

5.2 Additional Revisions

Additional revisions beyond those included in your package will be charged at an agreed hourly rate.

Major structural changes or full re-edits may incur additional fees.

6. Client Responsibilities

You agree that:

  • You have full legal rights to all footage, audio, images, and materials supplied.

  • You are responsible for backing up all original files.

  • Footage supplied is final and ready for editing.

You warrant that no supplied materials infringe third-party copyright or privacy rights.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Guest Edit from any claims, damages, or legal actions arising from:

  • Copyright infringement

  • Unlicensed music

  • Unauthorised use of footage

  • Disputes relating to ownership of supplied materials

8. Footage Quality & Liability Disclaimer

The Guest Edit is not responsible for:

  • Poor video or audio quality

  • Shaky, underexposed, or damaged footage

  • Missing footage

  • Corrupted or incomplete files

The final edit quality depends entirely on the quality of the footage supplied.

Our total liability is strictly limited to the total amount paid for the service.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or emotional losses related to event memories.

9. Music Licensing

If you provide specific music, you are responsible for ensuring appropriate licences are obtained.

If we source music, it will typically be royalty-free or licensed appropriately for general use. However, we are not liable for copyright claims arising from platform-specific usage restrictions.

You accept full responsibility for music usage across distribution platforms.

10. File Storage & Delivery

Edited videos will be delivered digitally via agreed transfer method.

We will store raw footage and final edited files for 60 days following final delivery.

After 60 days, all files may be permanently deleted without notice.

You are responsible for downloading and securely backing up your files upon receipt.

11. Intellectual Property

You retain personal usage rights to the final edited video.

The Guest Edit retains the right to use excerpts for:

  • Portfolio display

  • Website

  • Social media

  • Marketing and promotional purposes

If you wish to opt out of portfolio usage, this must be requested in writing before editing begins.

12. Cancellation

If you cancel before editing begins:

  • Deposits remain non-refundable.

  • Any administrative or work already completed may be invoiced proportionally.

If you cancel after editing has commenced, no refunds will be issued.

13. Complaints

Any complaints must be submitted in writing within 30 days of final delivery.

Complaints received after 30 days will not be considered.

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to technical failures, illness, natural disasters, or third-party service disruptions.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
